Prior to any daycare or boarding we require a half day visit to assess how your dog socializes with other dogs and humans. This helps our team to ensure all pets at the Lodge are safe, as well as inform us on how to personalize our care for your dog. After the assessment, we’ll email you a detailed report that will give you an overview of your dog’s behavior and social skills.
Prior to scheduling an assessment, you must first complete a Pet Profile form as well as Join Our Pack. This form gives us a detailed look at your dog’s social, behavioral, and health history, which will help our team prepare for your pet’s assessment.

Our half-day assessments are $30.00
Our full-day assessments are $50.00
This fee is designed to cover the 27-step assessment process and the time our expert Pet Technicians take to perform them. Provided the assessment goes well, this fee includes supervised daycare for the remainder of their visit.
Our assessments work on a sliding scale of 1 – 10 rather than a black and white pass or fail system. Because of that, it is rare that a dog fails an assessment. However, it is possible that we may need to tailor their experience at the lodge to ensure that they and our other guests have a safe and comfortable environment. This may include shorter stays, lower/higher frequency visits, training, and more. We will always work with you however possible to ensure your dog has a place at the Lodge.
However, for dogs who fundamentally fail our assessment process, they will be unable to attend the lodge for any services.
If your dog has not visited the Lodge for daycare or boarding in over a year, they will be required to complete a new assessment. This is to ensure that we are tailoring our services to support your dog in a way that best fits their needs and personality. If you attend any daycare or boarding service within the last year, you will not require a re-assessment. Our dedicated Client Services team will track this information for you and inform you should a re-assessment become relevant for your pets.
